This is just a page to answer some of the more frequest questions I have been asked about either myself or the contents of this blog.
Q: Why”Dawnstar”?
A: Firstly I must stress it has nothing to do with the comic book character. I wasn’t even aware of this character until people started asking me. Nor is it a biblical reference. Basically well over a decade ago I started getting involved in online activities and I of course need a nickname. I have been reading science fiction stories from a very early age and one of my favourite books is Tuf Voyaging by George R. R. Martin. In the first chapter there is a character named Rica Dawnstar. I simply just liked the name and I’ve been using it ever since.
Q: Are you a professional photographer?
A: No and nor do I pretend to be. I enjoy photography but I have a lot to learn.
Q: What inspires your photos?
A: Tricky question. Whatever I like the look of at the time. I do particularly like the challenge of macro photography.
Q: You complain about the weather in Brisbane a lot, why don’t you just move?
A: Because this is where my job is and I really, really like my job. As long as the airconditioning holds out during summer I’ll be fine.
